Cooking with a Potjie Pot
The rounded shape helps collect liquid at the bottom, requiring only a small amount of added liquid.
Place coals under and around the pot. Regulate heat by moving coals closer or further away.
If a loud bubbling sound can be heard from two metres away, the heat is too high. A soft simmer indicates ideal temperature.
Avoid placing directly over open flames as this may weaken the cast iron.
Avoid adding cold liquid to a warm pot.
Always wash with hot water while warm, or allow to cool completely before washing.

Due to the cost of postage on our larger items, we only ship within Australia
